ABOUT DBTC San Jose

"Formed in the spirit of dynamic growth, social

justice and intellectual pursuits."

Don Bosco Training Center (DBTC) at Barangay Malasin, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, is a vocational training center for the poorest of youth. These young boys ages 17-24, are mostly children of poor farmers of the province. Majority of them finished secondary education, but do not have opportunity to pursue tertiary formal education.

One of the qualifications of our center in accepting students is that they must come from poor or even poorer families and must have some technical inclination. At the moment, DBTC offers 15-month courses (10 months in-house training and 5 months OJT), namely, Welding, Small and Farm Engine Technology (WENTECH) and Automobile Mechanics (AUTOMECH). Our center has WTR (With Training Regulation) accreditation from TESDA. After graduation, we expect them to land a job to companies or to go back to their communities to put up their small businesses, or to return to productive farming. We have successfully produced since its beginning more than 800 graduates till the present, thanks to the help of foundations, government scholarships, and some individual benefactors and sponsors.

An important aspect of their training includes values formation by which we introduce them to Christian values and Catholic faith. Our graduates are recognized by companies not only in their technical skills but more so in their discipline and sound living. St. John Bosco, the Father and Teacher of Youth, our patron and founder always dreamt of seeing his students as “Good Christians and Honest Citizens.” This is the same mission to which we also wish to invite others to be part of, the mission that St. John Bosco started almost a hundred and fifty years ago.

"For you I study, for you I work, for you I live, for you I am ready even to give my life." - Don Bosco
